Dearest Maria
We will be thinking about you and praying for you tomorrow, as you lay your dear Dad to rest. It will be a difficult day for you all, but I am sure but you will be given the strength to cope.
With much love and hugs

Maria
I hope you found comfort in the funeral, and that you have fond memories of your Dad.

Hello everybody
Thank you for your kind messages and your prayers and support over the last few months.
Although sad, the funeral was a lovely occasion, and I was overwhelmed by how many people attended- Dad was very sociable. It was great to catch up with so many old friends and relatives, brought together to celebrate a unique man. He would have loved the opportunity for a good chin wag! The service itself was beautiful and I managed to do the bible reading without a wobble. I got through it all pretty well except for when he was brought to the house at the start- it was the sight of the flag of Croatia, his homeland, draped over his coffin that really choked me- but more out of a sense of pride in him, and my heritage, rather than any sense of loss.
Sadly, Mum couldn't attend as she had a chest infection, but she got lots of visitors afterwards, which brought her great comfort.
Thanks once again- your kindness will help me in the coming months.
Much love
Maria x
